Huh, people take classes in this stuff?

I must have read too many books as a kid, because I definitely read up to seven lines at once...

As in an entire paragraph in one glance?

I don't speed read books - just information. When I need to know something fast, I can skim through and just look for important bits.

How fast is considered speed reading and how fast does everyone read? By everyone I mean you people here.

Well, I read 15 pages within 8 minutes as a rule of debate. The pages are heavily underlined, but there is still a significant amount to get through..

If you're taking out inside my head and not loudly, I can go alot faster.

I bought a Evelyn Wood speed reading book a while back for $6. To be honest, Ive never finished it, but using the tips Ive read so far, Ive gone from about 550 wpm to about 900 wpm. I just havent been able to completly grasp the 'supervocular reading' which you can do into the 1000's of wpm.
