Memory cell batteries will only recharge to the amount you charge it the first time... so if you only charge it for 6 hrs, then it will only last half as long between charges....

Incorrect. A cell's memory can be erased by fulling cycling the battery several times, though that does get inconvenient.

You have to cycle them thru 3 or 4 full charge/discharge cycles before they're up to their full potential. Always best to run them all the way down before recharging.
