The "irony" of this is that I ALMOST titled this thread "Do YOU have the coding skills? (a call to NOTFRED)" but then I couldn't remember if he was the uber-coder guy or if that was something else.

BRE is/was the best BBS generation door/online game ever. Screw Tradewars...it was all about BRE.

Actually, I looked it up, and based on the small amount of info I gathered on it, I do belevie I could build an internet version of it.

I'm not going to, though. For one, it appearst o be copyrighted, and also it would be a hell of a lot of work.
 
BRE will forever live as one of MY favoriate multiplayer online games. I started up playing it a few months ago (telnet to just about any BBS) but it's changed ALOT, there are alot of "traitors" out there now that'll have more then one account, and all the leagues i played in(3 of them) were dominated by the same boards over and over again.

Have you heard of Earth 2020, its pretty good, nowhere near as good as BRE though.
