I guess most people answer they dont have enough of them:).
To save money is almost impossible, there is always things you wanna buy or do.
I think I must win a million to make ends meet, lol.
A well payed job would be a solution but that isnt easy to get.
You dont have to tell your income but do if you like;-)

welcome to ATOT. This is an ironic first post for you since you're concerned about $$$ but you've just joined a community where you'll spend much of your time here when you really could be somewhere earning that cash

I will just say that I am in far better financial shape, and have much more buying power than many people my age (25).
And it will only improve in 2 years when my wife graduates and our household income doubles.

I've quite satisfied in my financial situation.

I'm a slumlord, land developer, and I could spend an insane amount of money if I didn't want to retire in a few years. :)

yes

saving requires discipline but it can be done. when my wife was working we had more than enough money but now with the little addition my wife will be staying home so money will be tighter but we will be ok.

No. My wife and I live paycheck to paycheck. Filed bankruptcy 2 years ago.

I will be getting a new position and raise at the beginning of the year. Hopefully that will help a little.

We pay a monthly mortgage > $2000/mo... so no we're not saving enough to be able to buy something like a new car, but we can still afford $1500 vacations a couple times a year.

Such is life... no big deal.

i could use some more
ive been at this job over a year and took a 3% cut in pay.
stupid 401k, im not going to retire @ this job and i dont get the employer match until ive been here 6 years or something.
so its almost pointless to me at this point.
i dont get to save very much, i usually end up spending about what i take in.

Yeah

I don't think that finding a better paying job is always the answer, it's doing more with what you have, it's called money management. I don't have one friend who makes less than me, all of them have nicer vehicles when it comes to depreciating assets they have those, but when it comes down to having a nice retirement/appreciating assets I have them beat.

If you increased most people income they would buy bigger cars, bigger houses and be in the same situation that they are in now in a short amount of time. It's not always about living for the moment its about living within or under your means.

I'm not comfortable at all with what my wife and I make. I had to sell a car that I paid cash for just so I have the extra money that I need each month to pay bills.

My wife and I both work. We have one car that we are still paying on, and it is at 0% financing. We own a $150,000 house, but didn't have any money to put down on it, so we have a large (~$1200 per month) payment on it.

exactly, but It can be so damn boring "living within your means" and that is the reason many people get a bad financial state as you call it(like me).spending money is easy and funny,to save is hard and boring but the smarter way.
