Do you have click aversion?

Anybody ever avoid clicking on a link to an article because you knew your click would boost the popularity of a page/topic you had almost no interest in?
I sometimes restrict my pageviews, despite being a tad curious, because I don't want to give the webmaster the impression someone cares about the subject matter.
Just wondering if anyone else thinks this way.

i don't click on links to anti-american sites or radical sites that want to destroy the US. i check the URL before clicking on most stuff
