Just thought I will post this in here because this is OT But perhaps this is P&N material.

So do you have folks have anyone in your family who cares nothing about politics, doesn't bother to vote and so on?

yup... I'd go so far as to say that most of my family is apolitical except my mom's sister's husband and his girlfriend, my dad, and myself (though I'm borderline apolitical a lot of times... my political interests tends to lean more towards the sausage making process than any ideology)

Well my telephone was ringing and
They told me it was Chairman Mao

You got to tell him anything 'cause
I just don't want to talk to him now
I have a apolitical blues and
It's the meanest blues of all
I have a apolitical blues and
It's the meanest blues of all
I don't care if you're John Wayne
I just don't want to take no calls
No calls

I'm the apolitical person in my family. I pay just enough attention to make fairly certain that I'm voting for the candidate most likely to leave me the hell alone and leave it at that.

I vote "no" on anything that would raise my taxes and vote "yes" on things that lower my taxes and decrease government interference with my life.

I feel like my uncle is the only apolitical person in my family. This reminds me that I have some some intense fights to look forward to on Thanksgiving (my aunt once said at a previous Thanksgiving dinner, "I'm not going to let you liberals ruin my Thanksgiving," to her sister and brother-in-law).

That's what my Thanksgiving dinners always turn into. Political BS. I usually grab my turkey and go into another room.

Nah, most of my family is intensely political. My job is very politically-involved, and by the time I get out of work, I can't handle any politics in my personal life. I have my opinions but don't have the strength to fight for them, so I appear apolitical to many.

I have a crazy uncle that doesn't pay federal income tax and says he likes Vietnam better than here. He's been saying for 20 years that he's going to move to Alaska, but hasn't made it yet. :p

I don't like being a political person. It's like arguing with a religious person. Your side is right no matter what and the other person's views are wrong. I never bring up politics with family or friends.

My wife pretends she is.

But she always votes and if you bring up politics she'll talk about it all night. But ONLY if you bring it up.

I don't care about politics. 1 of my siblings and my dad read up on that shit. I still vote though, based on what emotions I get when I look at them.

When I saw Obama, I didn't see Bush. My vote was settled right there.

My wife is apolitical, as in indifferent about all politics. I am apolitical in a different way in that I hate all politicians equally. Not even sure if that's considered apolitical or not.

I am very apathetic about politics. Seems like its always just the lesser of two evils, and that's not enough for me.
