do you have any tattoos?

if so, what are they?

I've wanted a tattoo for the past couple months, but haven't been able to decide on what to get. my latest possible idea is getting a verse from "Across the Universe" (my favorite song of all time) inked onto my back shoulder or arm, but not sure on how exactly I'd want it styled.

edit: update... I think I've finally decided on a tattoo... I want something that I'm not going to regret a decade down the line, and my favorite song changes like every week. so I'm thinking I should get something to honor my heritage, and since my family has been knocking around Quebec since the 1600's, I think I've decided on a fleur de lis with "je me souviens" written under it.

A friend of mine has a verse from something tattooed around his neck like a loose necklace(very upper chest area) in a small font. It looks pretty good, but it's not readable from a distance. It looks like a necklace until you get close to see the type.

No tattoo's here. I'm not against getting one, just not sure what I would want.

No tats. The problem is I know I would get tired of it after about a year and want something different.

Got a bunch. Almost have a full left sleeve, have some on my right arm, one around my collarbone, and on the back of my neck.

Edit: And since you asked what they are:

On my right arm I have a design I made, which includes a logo of one of my favorite bands of all time. It's an elaborate looking star/line art design with the logo worked into the bottom.

On my left arm I have a painting done by an artist named David Bollt:

And on my upper left arm I have a bio-mech style mechanical dragon, which is unfinished right now.

And on the back of my neck I have a skull and crossbones, also drawn by David Bollt.

So you just want a tattoo just to get a tattoo not because it means something..........seems pretty typical for the majority of people that get them since it's cool now-a-days.

Are you gay?

I wouldn't get a tattoo because it makes you more identifiable, however if I changed my mind, I would get a Celtic torque pattern over my upper bicep something like this but in black ink.

OR

I would get this tattooed across my upper bicep: Text

I'd lean more towards the latter image, and then it'd only be with black ink. I'm not much for inking in letters across my body. Seems like sacrilege in tattoo world.

edit: to clarify, I'd get that latter image wrapping around my upper bicep, lolz

I have reasons for wanting to get a tattoo... but those reasons don't manifest themselves into a specific tattoo, just the desire to get one.

Yeah. When I lived in barracks I got bored with other people's tattoos after a year or so. I just couldn't imagine being so enamored with a design that I'd never get bored from it.

No, none, nada, zip.

In my youth, I found myself several times in a tattoo parlor...often drunk as hell...but never did find anything I wanted inked on me for the rest of my life.

At one point, right before I shipped to Vietnam, I was going to get one of the traditional USMC tattoos, but never did. When I got to my first duty station outside Da Nang, I was glad I hadn't. There was a standing order that ANY Marine who had a tattoo was shipped out to a different unit. NO ONE was permitted to have any sort of tattoo or other "identifying mark" on their body. (Most were sent to the 1/9...better known as "The Walking Dead."

I've been going back and forth about getting the number "13" tattooed on my neck. I'm a big Johnny Cash fan and that song has always meant a lot to me.

Grimm Reaper on the left bicep that says "Death is Certain, Life is Not" below the reaper. Pentagram on the left side of my neck.

oh, and in before most of the the anti-tattoo ATOT crowd, seems some of them have already made it in here

I like that a lot. I was seriously considering getting a picture of my daughter tattooed on myself, but I always held back because if the artist didn't do it right, I'd have a strange kid tattooed forever :^D The footprint looks great :^)
