correct, i pressed the wrong key when spelling, i meant hanuman. and he's not from indian folklore, he's from the hindu religion. and he isn't the king of the monkey either

Yes, Sugriva was the monkey king and Hanuman was a minister sent on his behalf to determine if Rama was a threat (he then recognized Rama as divinity and became a faithful servant)
