their staff are complete idiots, but the sound rooms they have at the UE by my house are the BEST!!!!
Me and the g/f spent about two hours today watching Men in Black on a 56" HDTV, and a $20,000 speaker system hooked up to a $10,000 Digital 5.1/DTS EX/DVD/Amp setup...

Me and my brother would spend hours there when we didn't have much money, and watch all the movies we could in their theater room which had an HDTV projector...thing could go up to 100in in HD/Progressive Scan mode!!!!

Used to give out free drinks too, but not anymore here...once again the staff are idiots, but the sound rooms rock...

You can find some deals in their refab/returns/discontinued section sometimes...

Bought a few items there before I got into the on-line price fixing action...

Sluggo, if you've seen one electronics retailer, you've seen 'em all. Different color scheme, perhaps, but that's it. Prices within ten dollars of the competition on most every item, and service levels are comprabable, too.

Yeah, it is pathetic, but me and my brother had absolutely no money, I was in school and he was awaiting disability benefits...it was a blast though, once I got money, I built my own theater system for my room. It rocks!!

Oh God... UE here in boise tends to have the biggest idiots, the highest prices, but they still do give out free drinks...

I have had great experience with UE here in AZ (at least the Chandler store) I have only worked with one sales person though. I bought my Klipsch Reference series speakers including the KSW-12 subwoofer from them at a price that rivals the prices on the internet. He worked with his manager go try and get the price I was looking for, and somehow he did it. (Their original price was ~1950 but I got it all for ~1600)

They have good selection of higher end components, and the listening rooms are pretty nice as well. I would definitely go there first when looking for a component, and auditioning until I find what I am looking for. Of course, I would shop around before buying, but it's a good place to do a tad of research.
