Thanks for your input, Mani. I am not a gamer at all. Screen clarity and colour accuracy and overal picture quality is pretty much the most important stuff for me. Every flat panel I've seen has been completely flicker-free. I've been using 70Hz on my 15" for a long time now, it doesn't bother me, but LCDs seem to just look ... different, I guess because of the way they deliver the image. It's so much easier on the eyes, even if the CRT isn't "hard on the eyes"..Originally posted by: Mani

Just make sure you get a good one though. It's your monitor that you stare at all those hours on the computer, you may as well spend a bit more and treat your eyes a little better. LCDs are easier on the eyes and when used with DVI are usually sharper than CRTs. But as was mentioned, keep an eye on response times if you're into gaming.

LCD's do not function well outside of their "native" resolutions. Like, if an LCD reccomends 1024x768 @70Hz it may not work properly outside those specs. That's why I don't have an LCD. I like to play games, and I don't like to be locked into one resolution.
