I want one.
They were selling the base model here in toronto for 1399 (don't forget, this is canada) which is an amazing deal. I would like to get one if I can find it again for that price (doesn't look like it).

So, I know that the lower models have the 66mhz FSB and only 128 megs of ram. I would like to run OSX and I don't know if 500mhz, 66, 128 is enough. If you have one of these, or have any experience with one, please let me know how you like it, and how it compares to better thing (ie, better i-books or the G4 powerbook). Thanks.

*Disclaimer;
I am a PC person. I need a laptop so I can make art on the road. I have no qualms about going cross platform all the time, I work in a lab where we do that all the time. I have no experience with laptops of any breed though. I also need firewire.
The i-book is a sweet looking machine too.

I installed OS X on a friends 500mhz iBook and it ran dog slow until he added another 128mb of memory then it ran perfectly fine. So get more memory before you install OS X.

Great! So 256 will do it then. Thanks for the input. I know that ATers are pretty anti-mac, so I'm surprised anyone even responded.
