Whenever I make goals, work for them and it pays off, I feel joy.

I hooked myself up with a placement company, went to the hiring conferences, and the next day I got an offer.
Only 18 bucks an hour, but it gets automatic overtime and by the end of the year I'll make 1.5 times as much.

The only thing left is a house in the suburbs and a dog and a wife named Skip.

My life is all about trying to find ways to stave off boredom so I don't think of how devoid my life is of joy. :|

I don't associate happiness with material things, companionship and optimistic quasi thought(family, wife, children). I associate it with finding myself through contemplation, and rational thought. I don't enjoy social interaction because I perceive it as a distraction. Most of the things we do in life are distractions(work, emotions, and relationships,etc)

I disagree. Yes I rerely interact with acquaintances too. I too think it's a distraction, but you can't say the same regarding friends and family. What's the point in living if you don't value your close friendship and family? I could probably get a job with decent pay in US, but I opted to come back to Hong Kong so i can interact more with my relatives and old friends. I find those interactions are worth way more than any monetary value.

i have more joy than I could ever want when my nieces are around....and they've been around for the last 2 months now and I couldn't be happier.

i have a lot of joy right now but i'm really going to be happy if i get a new job. i have a pretty good relationship w/a hot nicaraguan, i have a huge tv w/5.1 system and I love to game and watch movies heh, i'm in great shape, and i'm all around in a happy mood.

i enjoy my current job and it's very laid back, but there are a few things i wanna change.

1. it's a 22 mile drive each way, it's starting to get annoying.
2. i am making decent money (little over 50K) and am saving A LOT right now, but I want to make more $$$ so my gf and I can get a place of our own now
3. there is a lot of downtime here (check it by my posts during the work day) and i would rather be at a job where i am busy enough to not have to go to ATOT every 10 minutes for something to do.
4. my manager micromanagers and he is very indecisive, and no matter how much i tell him or give my input, in the end, i always am developing stuff the way he wants it, sometimes i agree sometimes i don't.

so i'm in the midst of job hunting and i actually have 2 3rd round interviews for 2 different companies next week. if i land either of them i'll be making between 15k and 20k more than I currently am, and that my friend, will bring a lot more joy to my life

I have always wonder why some people commit suicide. There is too much work in this world that has to be done. There are too many foreign places to explore. There is too many wonderful things in this world to offer that I know that I will never experience because time is too short. There are lots of great food to try in this world(yes, I a foodie!). There are many new friends to meet and make long term friendships sucessful. I see a lot of joy in young children and I hope that we can all leave this world a better place when we leave this world. Life is too short so make the best of it.

Maybe I am a optimist because overall, I am happy to experience a lot of joy in this world.

Life is a balance between Joy and Sadness, and I've had my share of both. The only thing thats I've noticed is that as you get older the highs get higher and the lows get lower.

Well... I only really act all poofy around girls, animals, babies, stuffed animals.

Um, well let's just say that I don't act poofy in the physical presence of guys. Virtual presence is OK though
