Do you have a temper?

Are you someone that can get upset, fly off the handle or lose your temper easily?

Yes, and it is a new exercise in willpower every day when I avoid blowing up at work as it becomes more ridiculous by the day.

No, almost to a fault.

But when I do get upset, people take notice because it is so rare (and I have one of the loudest voices probably in the world when I want to use it. As a camp counsellor, I was called the "Human Megaphone" for my ability to get everyone's attention just with my voice.)

Yes, spouting off a few choice expletives helps relieve the energy. Throwing things is even better.

I do, but it rarely manifests itself. When it does, it's harsh words, not physical violence / pouting / screaming / throwing things.

I worked with a guy once that would throw his tools and yell when his piece of equipment broke down. It was so stupid, because then he'd just have to go pick them up.

You know what helped me more than anything? Reading "Around the World in 80 Days"...Phileas Fogg realized that most stuff wasn't worth getting worked up. Seems stupid, but it was a bit of an eye opener for me. I get mad and stressed...for what? It's not like being mad or anxious improves the situation in most cases.

My three year old seems to have a direct access line to mine.

Only if provoked.

like the song says..

Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail
once you provoke her, rattling of her tail
never begins it, never, but once engaged...
never surrenders, showing the fangs of rage

Hell yeah. You should see me simmer and burn when I can't find my eraser while working on homework.

People blocking me on the street also piss me off, but I just pretend to smile and nod.

Yes. I'm a pretty passionate/emotional person. It's a great weapon in your life as long as you control it.

I have a bit of a temper and I've been wondering how to deal with it recently.

I have a pretty long fuse. I prefer to keep my cool in most situations and find losing my temper rarely helps anything.

Yeah, I fly off the handle rather easily. Takes very little for me to snap and go off on someone.

I have a ton of Hungarian blood coursing through my veins, so yes, yes I do have a temper but I keep it in check. I have been told many times I have that EF Hutton type of personality, I don't talk much, but when I do.....

Not sure if that is good or bad.

Not really, I'm pretty laid back. Sometimes I think I take too much before I say something.

Everybody has emotions, learn to control them by not letting your thoughts run away with you feeding your emotions... A vicious circle must not be maintained.

However, there are times when i meet true idiots by choice, that i wish that for once i would like to here from law and order : Go ahead, we will not put you in prison, see them as a problem and solve it, you are doing us a favor as well. :)
I am sure everybody experiences that once in a while.
But i am a very easy guy, i learned that getting angry at people keeps them in check. I do so not because i need to but to make sure the "monkeys" let me be. Monkeys being people who like to test how far they can go or need someone to blame anything on.

nope, im like the opposite, i would much rather just get alone with someone (even if i dont like them) than stir up trouble.
