Do you have a military ID, do you get a ticket?

I was riding with a guy one time that had a "paternal order of fellow officers" card (or something like that) and he had it in his wallet just where the cop could see it. He didn't and wrote him a ticket. When he gave him the ticket and saw it he apologized like hell. I was like where can I get one?

I have a concealed wepons permit, and that has come in handy. Guess its cause he knows I have to have a clean record to have one in the first place.

Only douche bags show their military id when they get pulled over and most times they still end up getting a ticket.

Most of the people in the military that I know drive on an expired driver's license. If you're active duty and stationed outside of the state which issued you your license, you don't have to keep it up to date (my brother's has been expired for the past 7 or 8 years). They show their military ID so they don't get hassled for driving with an expired license.

Try to get a car rental though 🙁

I've only been pulled over once. I was on my way back to my duty station when I was pulled over for speeding. It was 3 am and I didn't show my ID but my BDU jacket was in the back seat. I just got a warning.

You military guys need to come to TX, or at least the south. Here in D/FW my brother has gotten off quite a few tickets when the cops see his military ID. I know it's not the same where he is stationed since it's a military town but most of the time when he was driving tx to ga it would help him out.

I show mine because I still have a Texas drivers license even though I've lived in 5 different states in the past 2 years. I don't know of a time when it has ever caused harm.

I was going down from buffalo to nyc with my housemate who was a marine. we got pulled over around binghamton when he was doing 90 over 65. he didn't want to get a ticket, so he hid it. he only gave the trooper his military ID.

it turned out the trooper was a marine too...

he got out without a ticket.
