Do you have a fear of elevators killing you?

What an elevator won't do is fall at least in the US these days but that door should never have opened like that. It's tragic and I hope the family wins Trumpian amounts of money.

I watched the video and still am not scared of elevators. They are one of the safest methods of transportation. Now scooters and cars are scary.

To be in the lobby when that happened must of been traumitizing. I would sue for mental anguish. I am so glad the video had no sound.

Big city elevators in old buildings DO scare me, because if they look ancient, it's a good sign the building owner can't afford to have it replaced. They're not old to simply "add to the building's charm."

Ugh....this is one of those videos I wish I didn't watch. The guy folded up like an accordian. At least it was a quick death.

Eh, sometimes I get irrational fears (airplane turbulence, elevators being bumpy, etc...)... At the end of the day I know it's irrational - and even if it were rational then simply if it's time to die then oh well. Not much you can do in life, it's a lottery system.

Something or someone messed up badly there for that to happen. There should be an interlock that does not allow the car to move if a door is open.

Elevators don't really scare me but after seeing lot of videos like this I respect them. Don't linger between the doors, get in, or get out, don't hesitate. Same with escalators. Lift your feet to get off don't let yourself slide to the end, as fun as that may be.

Ugh that's terrible... gotta have a tough stomach to have to show up to that scene.

Used to be terrified of elevators as a kid. Now, I'm totally fine. After seeing that though I might be diving in and out of them for awhile.

I'm sure if I got stuck or there was an incident like this that would prob freak me out. I used to work for a commercial moving company and was in elevators all day long in Boston--along with large pieces of office furniture and equipment. Nothing ever happened, luckily.

So were the rest of the people trapped in that elevator with like half of that guys body after he was crushed? That would be pretty effed up.
