Do you have a Facebook and or Twitter account?

I only have a Twitter account, but I don't tweet anything, I just like to follow certain people for news/appearances.

Both! I was an early adopter of Facebook and although my usage of it has dropped off dramatically, I still log in once a day.

Twitter is a really great news aggregator / way of getting access to people you'd never be able to ask questions of otherwise.

More generally, I believe that if you want a career in technology like most here likely do, you'd better at least try everything that's new and supposedly hot. Being curmudgeonly for no reason only does a disservice to yourself.

I have a facebook account to keep track of my close friends. If it weren't for the ability to hide farmville activities, I would have deleted my facebook account a long time ago.

Twitter seems to be a waste of time.

I haven't used twitter since last year, I don't get what the big deal about it is.

FB has had its ups and downs. I got in contact with several folks I haven't seen/spoke to in YEARS. So it was cool to catch up and update folks that have had an outdated perception of the person they used to possibly dislike.
I avoid posting shit that's too personal.
It also brought several job leads that I probably would not have had outside of FB. Although none of those panned out. Me and classmates still shoot each other info on job leads and career related info occasionally.

I have both although they are used for contesting only. Most of the people who added me as a friend on Facebook now 'ignore' or block my posts because it's 100% contest spam. Same on Twitter, every single tweet I do is for a contest.

I don't use them beyond that... I hate seeing someone on Facebook and all you see on their wall is people posting about their menial little lives. 'ZOMG! I just saw a purple car, I absolutely have to post that on Facebook so everyone can bask in my excitement!'

I have a facebook account under my real name, and use it quite a bit to keep in contact with my family and friends. I have shut down my account a few times due to frustration with the GUI changing frequently, and concerns over the privacy settings, but I keep re-activating my account.

Twitter I really don't see a use for personally. I have considered signing up, just to follow a few choice people, but in the end you don't really need to sign up to do that.

I use Twitter as essentially an RSS feed for individuals (when/where to find new content they produce, or receive news on where they may be performing). It's much, much easier and faster than trying to go to all of their individual sites. I would never actually send anything out on my own.

I had a facebook acct and deleted it. Never had twitter. I remember the first time I heard about twitter, when that stupid student and his handler got arrested in Egypt and they used twitter to get help. I knew then that it was going to be very annoying and very popular.

I use twitter to follow people and events that interest me, but I hardly ever tweet.

I singed up for facebook only to see what all the fuss was about, but can't stand their ever changing privacy settings. I use it now only to play farmville.
