I seriously have over 600 DVDs burned on this thing - just burned 15 disks tonight. Believe it or now, I've had only 4 coasters burned since I've had it - two were attributed to sub-par media but the other two were legitimate coasters. I don't if this longevity translates to the newer models of the brand, but this drive is a workhorse.

i got one just because it was a good price
trust me, DL is NOT worth it
get one now, then upgrade when HD-DVD and Blu-Ray come out
