I always saved my cpus when buying new computers. So I got a little collection going, anyone else save parts for old dead comps?

Well, if anybody has a spare P4C 2.8 or higher in their collection, I'd gladly trade them for a 2.4 ;)

pentium 60Mhz
pentium 133Mhz (i think...it might have been 100Mhz)
pentium pro 200Mhz
pentium II 266Mhz @ 300Mhz (gotta love jumpers)
duron 650Mhz
pentium III 700Mhz @ 1.06Ghz
mobile pentium 4 1.7Ghz
pentium 4 2.4Ghz w/HT (northwood)
pentium 4 2.8Ghz w/HT (northwood)
core duo 2Ghz (imac 20")

and soon to be: core 2 duo E6600 2.4Ghz!

I typically only buy a new CPU if I also need to buy a new motherboard. I might break that habit soon though if dual core processors for socket 939 fall in price more.

No, I usually get rid of them.

All the old cpus were attached directly to the board.

Nope. I actually just threw out a dead Celeron 450 and a K6-2 on a mobo that wouldn't boot. The only CPU that I have left gathering dust is a s370 P3 750, but that's for sale. Someone could buy it if they want :)
