My job is boring and not creative. It gets very dull and repetitive, but pays well. It's on the list of 10 most boring jobs.

I want to change careers and I am going to school for that soon. Have to take my GRE first, which I have been putting off studying for. My choices are either writing or teaching/research. Neither pays really well, but I have bought enough investment real estate that I think we'll be ok on a lower salary and still be able to provide a nice house and retirement. To get to this point of having a choice has taken a great deal of work. There is not an easy way to do it, you just have to suck it up and do what it takes. Dude, that's the only way.

if you were really unhappy with your job would you stick it out until you could find a job you like (which could be several months or years down the road) or would you quit and start another job, like sales until you could find a job you like?

i honestly don't know what to do. i'm very unhappy at my current job but i can't find another job in the IT field that I'm qualified for or that even sounds interesting.
The only other job i had outside of IT is working in a kitchen.

i want a job where someone gives me a task to do and lets me go do it. Like it isn't something that someone is watching over me 24/7. i don't want to have to deal with people who have problems or stupid people, like in a tech support setting.

at this point, i hate doing IT work. if it was web design or something like that i could handle it, but i don't have the experience or training.

Keep THIS in your pocket as a reminder

I don't like my job.

I don't really dislike it either.

I don't hate my job, but I feel like I've got a constant headache while I'm here. heh... I tolerate my job as a means of paying the bills, keeping my insurance, and because in a couple months, my job is going to be relocating me to a town that also happens to have a great grad school, so I can start taking night classes.

Unhappy w/current field, but lost as to what new field to get into?

Instead of looking at legal jobs, try the illegal ones.

Drugs, guns, be a con man, etc

It's definitely more interesting...
