Do you hate modular power supplies?

At first I regretted not getting a modular PSU, but now that I finally have my GPU in I think I have just 2 or 3 unused cables neatly zip-tied behind the mobo bulkhead... no big deal. And, as it turns out, with an added fan on the bottom, the cords coming out of the corner ganged up works out pretty well rather than having them come out across the top of the fan.

After getting my first modular, I don't intend to get back to the non modular ones. It makes cable management way easier IMO.

Will only use Modular myself, and on top of that after owning 2, I don't think I could use a Modular that didn't use flat ribbon cables. My next PSU will probably be a Corsair AX with the extra all white cable set they offer.

The concept is nice, execution/price could be better though. I'd like to see smaller units (like 350-400w) with cables that and inter-changeable and standardized / unified with variations of length and size.

Modular PSUs created a need for an entirely new (BETTER) class of enclosures. It's not just about the PSU being modular; all of those lovely rubber grommets hide SATA cables, USB/card reader leads, etcetera.

I remember my old XT cases that looked like wiring closets inside, weighed 80-pounds loaded and had no heat issues whatsoever. They also had 10MB hard drives and an 8MHz CPU. Welcome to the future, and thank Seasonic you're here.

If cables were standardized i would 100% go for modular cables, but since each cable is unique to its own manufacturer, im sticking with non modular because it createes less clutter for me.

This sounds like a 1st world problem to me. :colbert:

I have no problems using either modular or non. Of course I usually try to size the PSU wattage to the machine, so even with a non-modular I won't have many extra cables.

I like semi-modular. There will be cables that are almost always in use, and there is no good reason for those to be modular.

Modular cables should be for auxiliary power connectors like molex and SATA power connectors, 3rd and 4th PCIE power cables, etc.
