Do You Hate boy bands, Limp Bizkit, Korn? Then Check this out

Pretty funny--Ben Folds, whose music I love, did a b-side that is basically a parody, he's mocking boy bands. It's actually kinda creepy, especially if you're familiar with Ben's music, cause it's nothing even similar to this--but he managed to nail that boy band sound/lyrics right on the head.

I gave it a good chuckle. He seems to be doing that lately,

also check out Rockin' the Suburbs, it is making fun of Limp Bizkit and Korn .

If you want to hear some more of Ben's (actual, serious) music, I suggest "One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces", "Annie Waits", "The Luckiest", or "Gone" to start with. He's just awesome, and apparently he can be funny as hell too.

"My pal" Ben's new album debuted at #24 on the billboard charts. OK, so it's not like NSync's Celebrity, #1 for god knows how long, but he's making plenty of money.

Not sure if it's gold, stayed there for at least 3 weeks (in the 20's and 30's), but I stopped checking after that.

Even one week in the top 200 gets you a good sum of money. Not to mention everytime RTS is played on the radio, and the tour he's on right now.

But since when was my point who is making more money? Millions of Americans bought Milli Vanilli?? remember??

I just checked billboard.com, not on the charts...guess what is? That's right, Limp Bizkit, now on the charts for 68 weeks lol....your point was I guess that he is more talented? If he's more talented, he shouldn't need to bash other artists, especially other artists that sell better than he does. His talent should sell itself.

Talent doesn't mean crap nowadays.
If you can entertain and put butts in the seats, that's all that matters.
I'd rather be a no-talent loser, perform for 3 years and retire, yet never get anyone's respect, than someone who spends their entire life trying to make a name for themselves with obscure music and never have a dime to show for it, yet be regarded as "a great up-and-coming talent" at 47 years old.

No, those people bought a "sound" which they thought were Millie Vanilli.

The fact that Milli Vanilli never sang those songs does not effect the "quality" of the original songs themselves.

If someone actually liked those songs, it doesn't really matter who sang them...they still sound good to that particular listner.

Rockin the suburbs is like other BFF albums. The reference was to a B-side track that was not like anything else he has done. Pretty much like his Fear of Pop album. Ben Folds is a musical genius IMO. Comparing him to limp bizkit and others is not fair. Music genres really shouldnt be compared. I am a huge Ben folds and Ben Folds Five fan and am sorry that they broke up but as long as he keeps makin albums im cool wit it.

Let me give you the background story: Korn made fun of Ben all the time, like in interviews, etc...so instead of whining, he made up a funny ass song.

ah, a peice of the story i did not know. I still like Korn, they have some good melodies, and the lead singer can do some things with his voice that's somewhat new to a rather stagnant area in hard rock (vocal variety).

What's with the rumors of the Korn lead singer being gay? I have a buddy who used to be a huge korn fan but now he hates em and told me the lead singer was a homosexual, not that I care, I don't even like korn.

Not a Ben fan here, but I caught the video somewhere and it amused me so I d/led it. Weird Al directed it (pointless piece fo trivia).
Anyway... Musical entertainment will always out sell music.
