Do you hand code your HTML?

I prefer to hand code.

I've learned the hard way to NEVER EVER use word for making or editing a website

Took me 3 hours to fix all the mess.

lol word? ouch

Hand code, but with something with syntax highlighting and such (dunno if that's an HTML IDE, but that's what I voted for).

Heh, so many HTML threads suddenly, it seems.

When I need to these days it's a text editor. Back when I used to make more complex pages I would start with dreamweaver or something, but everything now is simple without all the junk that was the rage years ago.

no i hate hand coding html. so tedious.

dreamweaver > * though hand tweaks are still faster & easier sometimes.

no kidding just shut up and write your damn code. I like dreamweaver alot, because you can use developer mode and see instant changes to your site it works pretty well

Yeah, I obviously did not know any better.

I was in a hurry to edit the site.

My boss was not impressed when he found out to say the least.

Emacs. 🙂

I've use good old MS InterDev for ASP stuff, but it's been a while. I'll fire it up once in a while to touch-up a thing or three, but most my stuff these days is pretty straightforward (no server-scripting) so Emacs it is.

Yup, I hand code in notepad. Once I actually learned HTML 8 or 9 years ago, I stopped using Netscape Composer and haven't looked back since.
