There's a spinoff, now?

Looks like a BYOB cutting competition, rather than MYOB building competition.

I like it too. I'd actually pay to run through the course with my new CRKT parang.

Yeah, I've watched it.

I think it's rapidly becoming clear what kind of knifes are superior for this competition. I don't think the show will last too long once most people start showing up with the same type blades.

I like it, not watch every episode like it but it's fun and educational.

I forgot the one judges name, but it's hilarious when he says it will cut, it will kill.

You may be confusing this new show with the original Forged In Fire. And yeah I laugh at that guy - I could easily make a knife that will cut and kill and I've never attempted knife making. My son made a small knife from an old circ saw blade that I used as a utility knife daily.

This new show is kinda dumb - fine as background noise but I like the original better since it demonstrates skill under pressure.

Another waste of time

All the shows like that have the same old tired competition why the competition? because it useless filler. Just show me a documentary on how a sword is made. And that show where they cut into fake flesh is the worse. If they really wanted to measure it for a competition they should use a machine thats calibrated to do the cuts with the same force and the same angle every time. And the three judges and all the pomp and mustaches makes me hurl. Tons of sword making documentaries without any of the filler on youtube.

That looks incredibly dumb but awesome at the same time. Shows like this remind me why cable sucks ass.

Don't care to watch the Knife or Death show. The original Forged in Fire is quite good. I know a few people in the blade business who watch the original show and enjoy it very much. It's pretty amazing what the competitors come up with in such a short time, especially when they don't know what they'll have to design and what steel they'll be working with. I'm also glad that the host occasionally mentions the tempering process that occurs between the firs and second rounds of the competition.

So, apply to compete on the show to prove how you can outdo a guy that's been making blades for years. :)

You may be confusing this new show with the original Forged In Fire. And yeah I laugh at that guy - I could easily make a knife that will cut and kill and I've never attempted knife making. My son made a small knife from an old circ saw blade that I used as a utility knife daily.

I honestly don't know which version I'm watching. The judges also have a guy always dressed in a penguin suit, the host has long hair and tats I believe. They really seem to be passionate and experts in metal. It's really interesting to watch and hear what they have to say.

It's on at like 2 AM or something when nothing else is on so I tune in a bit. There's also Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency that I recently bumped into which is completely off the hook on BBC. Never seen either of these before, but it's a nice change from the typical DIY I watch.

That thing's a piece of shit. For anyone considering it for any purpose, don't. I bought it on a whim, and broke it a couple light uses later. I have it held together with tie wire and cord, and use it for cutting poison ivy, and whacking around hard objects cause I don't care if that blade gets dinged. I'm only using it for that cause I spent money on the piece of shit. A Fiskars from Walmart is a noticeable step up, but still cheap enough to use as a beater. For real work, Ontario Knife Co is the best, and still not super expensive.

You're watching the original show ("Forged in Fire").

The judge you are thinking of is Doug Marcaida. He's an expert in the martial art known as "Kali" (Basically a knife and sword type martial art) .

I've watched 1 episode of the original series (5 seasons). Interesting what they can do with a piece of damascus steel and how it's made into a sword.
The $20k grand price for this new series is a joke, make it $50K for each episode.
