Ok, I've used insurance at the usps on a few occasions but I don't have a good understanding of it. I've checked their website (www.usps.com) but can not find their insured rates. At what point does the fee rate changes (e.g. do they charge the same amount for items with $50 to $99. increments of $50??).

I'm beginning to ship more items now since I've begun to ebay some things and need to have a better understanding of the shipping nuances. Any help is much appreciated :)

What would be interesting is finding out how insurance claims are handled.

I know getting a claim settled from UPS is hard. I can only assume getting a claim from USPS is 100x as hard.

Odd little bit of info:

$50 of insurance, no signature required on delivery.

$51 or more of insurance a sig is required at delivery.

ALWAYS insure for over $51+
