I have never used them before but I kind of like them--but i always thought they caused a lot of slow down. Is this true or are they fine? I figured I'd give them a shot since I just got Windows 7 and I'm up for some new stuff.

Anyway, which ones do you like?

no i never really found them that useful. It's not that i thought they slowed anything down i just didn't see a point in using them.

I shared the same concerns as you. While right now I prefer a clean desktop, I experimented with the stock tracker as well as the weather and cpu/ram monitors for a while.

I like the weather one. Figured with a 4.2GHz i7 and 6GB Ram the relative resource loss isn't really worthwhile even thinking about.

Nope. They suck and I never see them. Also, the weather ones are always inaccurate. Very inaccurate. Some will say, "It's 80F" when it's really like 72F. Right, fuck off you decentralized weather fucking stations with your bullshit of inaccurate numbers. Fuck ya'll!

I had object dock for a little while but eventually deleted it because I never used it and it fucked with media player classic full screen.

I use the World Clock widget, but never found much use for any of the other ones.

Yes

i love the sticky notes i use them all the time, and i cannot live without my CPU, GPU temps gauge in the sidebar which let me know immediately if i forgot turn up my fan speed while folding. Im constantly glancing at my temps. I also like my 3rd gadget which shows activity in each of my 4 cores, lets me know what the computer is doing and how the app is using the CPU

i dont use anything like that in windows as i really dont like it taking up space on the side. in linux i have a tray at the bottom that has some things the same size as my icons. weather, cpu/ram/network usage, audio controls
