If you cancel you lose the grandfathered 8 bucks and it'll be 10 if you re-subscribe in the future.

This is one reason why I haven't canceled. The other is that the wife and I still have shows to watch like Arrested Development.

Orange is the New Black is a decent show, but I like House of Cards and Lilyhammer more.

my brother let me borrow his netflix account a few months ago to finish dexter. this past saturday i was trying to find a movie to watch on there and i simply could not. the movie selection is awful. it's as bad as amazon prime if not worse.

ended up starting house of cards though which is an awesome show only 2 episodes in.

No one gives a damn what you do.

How pathetic is you decision making ability that you need advise on this?

My 'decision making ability' is just fine. I am not so arrogant to think I have thought of everything regarding this. Everyone else, thanks for the opinions. I am actually thinking I will keep it awhile longer and check out some of the shows mentioned.

We don't have Cable TV, so it's worth every bit of $8 for me. But I understand, $8 is $8, if you don't use it, lose it.

Oh, not saying you're wrong as hey if you don't miss it at all then it isn't worth it to ya, but I am curious, what content are you viewing and how are you getting it? Do you just watch new stuff, and so have TV or maybe Hulu, and go to the movies? Not watch much in general so even when cheap you weren't really getting your money's worth?

I had Netflix for my daughter. But she started to watch less and didn't care if I canceled. The physical dvd disc was a nice bonus. She watches free Hulu for the anime on her Chromebook. My wife and I watch watch variety and documentaries on OnDemandKorea and Bada.TV. That makes up about 75% of our TV viewing. The other 25% is OTA major network programming, sports, and movies. XBMC takes care of that.

Still blows my mind how much bitching went on about that. I could understand the complaints over splitting the disc and streaming and the rebranding stupidity they pulled <snip>

Am I the only one that cancelled at that point because I didn't want to be doing business with a company called Qwikster? :D

I don't have Amazon Prime, but now that it has older shows of HBO, it is a better alternative than Netflix. Thing is, you have to pay for the entire year in advance.
