Dunno about it MAXIMUS,

To be honest I just shell out for the real cartridge as the refillable can get messy and god knows what kind of warranty it is.

You should really research it, but I'm always gonna stay way from it because I'm sure whatever it does to your printer if it screws up, they will not take liability and will blame it on your error for filling it.

I have an r800 and it gets very expensive to fill up, but I know the job is done right. You can try, but again, it may risk the wohle printer.

Costco has great deals on bundles, check em out

Best of luck

i always thought with HP having the print heads on the carts you can refill until the prints heads wears out, then buy a new genuine cart and start the process again.

there are tons of places online that sells refill kits. and usually the refill hole is on top so the ink can't spill. but i also remember on some carts you have to drill the little hole...i'm not too sure of it, thats why i'm asking for comments and opinions here.

The "nifty stuff forums"-----just google the name without the quotes have quite a few threads on refilling HP cartridges---------what inks to use---and what equipment the amateurs use.

Huge savings can be had-------given that cartridges with the printhead on cartridge seldom come with over a 50% cost reduction from a custom refiller-----with the hazard that the previous user damaged the printhead by running the cartridge to dead empty.

Whereas the amateur refiller can refill for the cost of ink alone and the wise refiller does not run their cartridges to dead empty before refilling.-------but if you have a new HP all in one model its best to check and see if HP has added the curse of a chip to complicate your life.

I have had only HP printers. Normally I buy new carts. One time, I went and bought a refil kit for a black cart. I followed the very easy intructions and refilled my cart. Did not have a single issue.

Printed like normal afterwards as if I just bought a new cart.

If I want refills, I buy them at Office Depot already done and packaged. But, I usually prefer a new print head every time.

Thats what i was thinking about.. I saw those in the mall...

You can try em, but i am just a guy that likes minimal risks.

chances are it is great stuff, just me and my paranoia about the printer.

I'd say try it out, usually if they fit there's NP.

Best I can do, never toyed with it.

To maximus 96,

Having done some reserach on the internet, I came to the rough understanding that the HP 90 series is
sorta semi-chipped----my rough understanding is that the printer remembers the serial number of
some number of cartridges-----exceed that memory number and the printer forgets the cartridge was already used in your printer-so the refiller needs a set of cartridges--call them a,b,c,d---so you use up cartridge a and then refill cartridge a----when you put back cartridge a the printer remembers cartridge a is empty---so then you put in a refilled cartridge b, then a refilled cartridge c, then a refilled cartridge d-----and if the memory number is four-----then putting your refilled cartridge a back in has flushed the buffer and the printer will assume a is a full cartridge-----or at least thats the garbled sence I made of it-------but phoning some ink refill places may get you a better understanding-----plus there are ways to tape over contacts so the cartridge serial number is not read
or gets garbled.--------but getting the correct information on your specific printer becomes important.
