<< It doesn't have a name. >>

That's what I was going to say, complete with emphasis on the it.

My computer is not a person, nor does it have personal qualities...it is an object, a tool if you will.

People name their cars.....why not their computers?

Actually, I haven't named my computer. I don't plan on doing it, either.

Don't you think people will think you're weird saying stuff like, "Damn you, Betsy, why don't you like my hard drive? Is it too big?" :)
and then see you talking to your computer?

Named after scientists for the internal network. It's much easier to telnet to bohr.local than to remember a whole bunch of IPs ;)

Hey that brings back memories. :)

I had an entire HAL theme set up years ago. Had the HAL main console picture as the desktop. Used an image of HAL's eye for the My Computer icon. When the system started up it said "Good evening dave, everything's running smoothly, and you?" When it shut down I had it say "I can feel it dave..." (the dasiy song). Then of course all the various error warnings had their own wav.
The only thing I have left from that theme, is the My Computer icon. I should have saved the theme.

Mine is supersucker...named after the first sticker I put on the case (which now has about 30 stickers on it).
It's sort of appropriate, with all the fans it's got in there.
