Do you guys install Logitech Setpoint?

I installed it with my Logitech G9 but only really touched the profiles once. I usually only set up the buttons custom in each game and don't touch the profiles in the program but I'm sure it could be useful.

I installed it just because my side-scroller otherwise is useless. Other than also the nifty battery life indicator for the KB+Mouse, it's pretty much set and forget.

I have Version 4.80.103 as that still has the options to configure the LX-7 wireless mouse. I think the newer releases after that left that mouse out for some reason. Logitech should always keep all the prior mice in the newer releases of Setpoint. Some people like me, like the older and still very useful mice.
On my LX-7 there are 3 buttons you can set. 2 are seperate and 1 is with the Scroll Wheel. So I set them for Ctrl+C, Ctrl+A, Ctrl+V ... for copy, select all and paste.

Is it really necessary? Seems pretty useless unless i want to configure buttons/profiles.
You must use it if you want change the mouse's DPI. On most newer mice, you can do that once, and be done with it.

But then how could they sell new mice? :hmm: I only bought the MX518, because my MX510 was stuck at 400 DPI without software, and had no Windows 7 support.

Why would I buy a new mouse when the one I have, the LX-7 is the ideal size, is laser, is wireless and fits my hand well ? And it runs on 2 AA batteries. It was and still is, one of the best designed wireless mice out there.
