Do you guys install ALL the "Critical" updates?

Just wait till they build up and they release service packs. Its much easier that way.

and make yourself vulnerable to potentially serious exploits for the entire time you wait?

There was a recent thread in the tech support forum about a guy who wanted to be nice and install all the windows updates for two computers. Then total disaster, the systems won't boot up/work properly. Of course that was Windows ME.

When SP1 for XP came out it did that to me. I had to uninstall it.

Automatically does it all.

I don't like it doing it by itself, seems to simple for my I guess, hehe, but really its because I hate when it installs something when I'm working and I can't stop it...

I just have it set to automatically download it so when I'm ready to install it, I don't have to wait for it to download...

Uh, no. I don't install things like "This critical update fixes the font size when watching the close-captioning in the Bambi DVD." and other nonsense crap like that. I don't install Windows Messaging updates, or anything else bullsh|ttish.

If I need it, I update it. Otherwise, why mess with something that isn't broken?
