skim through the sentences and take note of the nouns and verbs, that'll give you somewhat an idea of what the entire sentence was about most of the time.

Sometimes speed reading is useless. It's like you didn't read anything at all. You should take your time to read and understand the material. Otherwise, you wasted two hours of speed reading and didn't understand the concept.

For reading novels and pros speed reading is NOT what you want. As others said take your time and enjoy the material. However for technical docs, manuals and work speed reading could be a real asset, one I wish I had.

Connect a USB 5.0 wire into your female socket behind your neck and download if it's in PDF format.

(seriously, though, just keep reading)

well ok, maybe not fast reading, but getting faster at reading?

i used to read very fast, but now for some damn reason i pay attention to detail so much that i find myself reading lines over and over again to get it all in.

I read like 500-600 words per minute in elementary school for my timed comprehension quizzes. I'm probably not that good anymore.

i think that's more of a focus issue. if your mind's elsewhere, you tend to read a line again and again and still not understand it because you're not paying attention.

FOCUS and you shall read fast!
