Do you guys delete the MSOCache folder?

Do you delete the MSOCache folder after you installed Office and rebooted?

  • Yes, it's useless anyway if you selected to install all components

  • No, it is needed some way or the other

From what I know is that folder is not needed after Office has been installed unless you want to add or remove a feature.

But what bothers me is even after I delete it, everytime I start some Office application it appears although it is like a couple of MB in size not the huge 700 MB initial size it was which contained the installer files.

Now I have just formatted my Laptop again and installed Win 7 Pro x64 + Office 2010 Professional Plus SP1

I was about to delete that folder but thought I'd ask here what is the best practice

Mind you, when I install Office, I always choose "Run all from my computer" on all the components so I am never prompted that a certain program wants to install but it can't find the installer files
