Ok lets say that you want to wear a nice new pair of jeans that matches your shoes and shirt but suddenly realize that its a little too long in length.

Would you cuff it and go out on a date or just wait until you take it to a tailor to be fixed.

Are cuffed jeans a fashion no no these days?

It depends on how long. Like 6+ inches too long? Wear a different pair of pants and learn to buy properly sized clothes. If it only an inch or two, nobody gives a shit, especially jeans and more especially your date.

Nope, I really don't have that problem since I run in the upper limit on pant-length.

As long as it isn't dragging on the ground behind your heel I wouldn't see a problem with it.

i cut and hem them myself if needed, not too hard.
just gotta use the correct needles for denim as itll bend/break thin ones

the ONLY time i will cuf them is if its really shitty out and i have to walk someplace and i dont want them to get wet, and that almost never happens

Actually, there were a fad back in my high school days in the late 80s. I have not cuffed since the early 90s myself. I always take my jeans to the tailor but I forgot this time...stupid me!

Anyway, I was searching on youtube and guess what I found......

I would never consider cuffing my jeans, but why does every jean advertisement I see these days have the model with cuffed jeans?

Or is whatever the model is wearing not considered cuffed?
Help me fashion police!
(ok, not every advertisement, but its common)

I cuff in the summer because it's too damn hot if I let them hit my shoes. Not a fan of shorts, so it's this or nothing.

cuff it if you like the look. maybe if your jeans are a little too long but then you should probably be getting them hemmed. some people buy selvedge jeans for the quality and because they look good cuffed.

Tailoring for me.

The cuff idea is a hipster thing (especially with Selvedge) that'll soon pass.

only a manlet would need to cuff their jeans.

Not even. They sell jeans in shorter lengths too! Only a moron would buy jeans that aren't properly sized.

OP, do you buy shoes that are 3 or 4 sizes too large as well?

I am not going into the whole back story what happened to me and how I ended up with the jeans.

If you didn't buy them yourself, throw them away, be a man, and buy your own damn jeans (ones that fit). If you can't afford it, well, then look like your jeans are too long or a hipster with cuffed jeans. Your choice!

No, I'm short so all jeans are too long for me, when I buy new I usually bring them to this place to get them hemmed to the right length. I think it's like $7.

When I was a kid I used to, but I think it was somewhat in style then. I have not heard of anyone doing this in ages.

Given that I am neither a hipster nor am I incompetent at buying my clothes, I do not cuff my jeans.
