well there's sharkies but i've never even gotten around to joining that one. or you could check out toms hardware. slashdot isn't realy a forum so that doesn't count, and anything beyond the actual staory is almost complete crap. fatwallet has a computer section, very limited though. you'd have alot more luck checking out linux sites.

arstechnica is probably the best one I know of. IRC is a lot better, if a bit more harsh (but hey, some people need a kick in the ass 😉)

There's a site called Programmers Heaven (Link) that has message boards. However, I have not used them personally.
