I bought the Logitech X-530 speakers and hooked it up to my Abit NF7-S motherboard. I don't get any sound of my center speaker and is wondering why. Do you get sound of your center speaker with this motherboard?

Do you have 5.1 sound setup in windows and in the sound utility program?

Are you testing it with something that's giving it a center signal for sure?

Yeah I have the 5.1 sound setup in the NVMixer and I'm using foobar to play my mp3s. I get the front and rear speaker sound but no sound in the center speaker.

There's a hidden "Create Center Channel" option that you have to enable through the registry. It used to be that you could do that right from NVMixer, but they took it out in more recent versions. I forget exactly how to do it, but if you do a search on the nForcersHQ.com forums, you should find it easily.

Edit: Some people will say it's not a good idea to enable this, since it messes up the sound stage or some such...but I honestly am not bothered by it.

Most audio files dont provide center channel signal. Pop in a 5.1 dvd and you should hear the center channel.
