The last three times I've gotten drunk drinking soco, vodka, and rum. Yuck. I'm never drinking SoCo again. But tonight I'm drinking amaretto sour and vodka shots...

Why would the color of drink make ANY difference? Your stomach doesn't have eyes.

Darker alcohol has a higher concentration of congeners, byproducts of fermentation. Different alcoholic drinks have different congeners, combining the various impurities can result in particularly sever hangover symptoms.

I've heard that clear alcohol has less impurities, thus tends to have less adverse reactions the day after (hangover)

it's not like clear alcohol is 100% water and ethanol... there are a lot of bad chemicals that are clear you know.. (dicholoromethane, hexane, HCl, nitric acid, methanol, etc.)

EDIT: i've been in lab too long
