Normally I don't, but I've got this math class (yeah, the calculus class I keep posting about).... We're graded on weekly quizzes, a midterm and a final. I've got a really good average on my quizzes, but I absolutely bombed the midterm. The final is next week, and I need roughly a 75% on the final to pass the class with a C. It's not that high of a requirement, it's only 5% above what's required to pass the class, and it shouldn't seem so tough. I mean, it's about 10 points below my quiz average. BUT, considering how bad I did on the midterm, I'm afraid the final's going to be jsut as bad, and if it is I"m pretty much screwed....
Ugh.... lots of studying for me for the next week.

I was looking at the grades, and most people have have quiz scores in the 70s. My quiz avarage is 84, and it's the third highest in the class. Also, only about 1/4 to 1/3 of the class actually got a passing grade on the midterm. However, there's one guy who's got a 98% quiz average, and a 98% on his midterm. He could not even take the final and still pass. I wish I was that good at this.

I usually don't get worried... but of course I've only had BS first year classes and 2 CS courses.

Which calc are you in?

Hm.. I took through Calc 3 in high school, but I don't remember the distinction. What is included in Calc 2? Integration, shell and disk methods, series, etc?

Yeah, we've done a bunch of methods of integration, volumes and surface areas of solids of revolution, improper integrals, and we're finishing up the semester with power series.

I don't worry anymore about finals. I just do my best during the semester and by the time finals come around I can usually get like a 50% on the final and still get a B+ or better in the class.

no, but then again i don't care much about school in general. my econ courses (my major) are important so i don't fudge them, but everything else is fair game. don't read the text, don't go to class, don't study; still pull a b.

Try law school. The final counts for 100% of your grade. Talk about stress...

That's the same course I just took. It sucks, I hated it. Got a C-, which is the lowest grade I could get and still count it toward my CS degree, and I'm happy with that. It was hard...

I was nervous about my final, worried about it for days, then wound up getting highest score on the final out of the class, and highest score for the class overall. All that good worrying wasted. :(

Gah - I didn't even study for my finals and I got b's on all of them - which is good enough for me.
