Do you get lots of retarded email from people at work?

I don't mean chain letters and surveys, but stuff that doesn't apply to your job AT ALL. I do web development. However, there's a large number of people who find it easier to address email to EVERYONE rather thna finding the appropriate mailing list.

A few minutes ago I got an email addressed to the entire california district. it said "if your name is on the lsit below, please contact me" and lsited about 20 names. I guess it was easier to send an email to several thousand people than it would have been to type in 20 email addresses.

I got 2 emails about dealing with snakes and snake bites. I'm sure there's a mailing lsit for people who actually work outside.

I also got an email with a link to here, because I apparently need to know about helicopter safety, nevermind that I've never been in a helicopter in my life....

I wish people would stop fouling my inbox with pointless crap.....

Yes. About every week a guy who works here sends everyone an email about something totally unrelated - generally pro-conservative stuff like "Why we should screen arabs" or something like that.

that is about the only email i get. only email that i get that is actually useful is from my manager.

otherwise it is the Facilities manager reminding everyone for the 100th time that we have a dress code, or the fridge is going to be cleaned out over the weekend, or a car is leaking oil, or blah blah blah.

nope, this crowd is pretty cool
