Uh, how about just saying "I don't want to keep getting these forwards... mind if you stop sending 'em? Thanks." ?

just filter em all into a special folder, every few days scan thru to see if there's anything you might be interested in reading and then delete, it's the kindest way :)

Matt, this makes it easier. Older people GENERALLY get the point if put politely but directly. Assuming they are not senile :)

Yeah, you just tell them "Hey, please don't send me this kind of stuff. Personal communications only." While old people do look a lot different, and often dress different, move slower, etc. they typically still understand the basics of human communication.

Actually, I do get forwards from people and don't know of a nice way to say I don't @%$#ing want them.

So I tell them in a not nice way.

You should've seen what I told my mom.

I get forwards from close friends, and never read them. If someone does't care enough to send it just to me, I don't feel its important enough to read.

I tried to read some back in the day, but when its a forward of a foward of a forward etc etc. Then its very aggrivating, almost as bad as the credit card emails.

Matt, Matt, this is the only enjoyment we have left and you want to take it all away?
