just filter em all into a special folder,every few days scan thru to see if there's anything you might be interested in reading and then delete, it's the kindest way

Yeah, you just tell them "Hey, please don't send me this kind of stuff. Personal communications only." While old people do look a lot different, and often dress different, move slower, etc. they typically still understand the basics of human communication.

I get forwards from close friends, and never read them. If someone does't care enough to send it just to me, I don't feel its important enough to read.

I tried to read some back in the day, but when its a forward of a foward of a forward etc etc. Then its very aggrivating, almost as bad as the credit card emails.
