Do you get an immediate "buzz" from alcohol?

Like right after the first swallow, which is well before very much if any could possibly enter your bloodstream. I think it's like reflexive salivation. Classical conditioning FTW.

No. It takes many drinks for me to feel that way.

It's more like a very mild euphoria triggered by the taste of it.

Only thing triggered by it for me is the need for more.

No but my mouth waters when I get ready to eat olives and pickles... like right now, but there's none around. Crap!

Closest I can think of are certain dry wines. Not really a buzz but it does have more of a numbing sensation.

Nope. That said, I usually don't drink anything higher than about 20% alcohol (usually in the 10% range for Belgian strong ales or imperial stouts)

Sometimes when drinking something like GoldSchlager I can experience a warm'n'fuzzy sensation upon drinking. But it's definitely not a buzz. I would have to stop drinking for a year or so to get back to that point.

Heck no. Most I'll get is a slight warm sensation about five minutes after taking a shot.

Yeah, every now and then, mnot very often, as the first glug is going down i feel good. I know what you are talking about man. Since the booze hasnt even entered my stomach at that point, it must be some kind of reflex.

I do from a glass of wine, the effect is immediately apparent, especially on an empty stomach.

It takes 3-4 shots to start to feel it. I have only been shitfaced drunk once, and it wasn't even that bad. Took 10 shots in an hour to get there, but I am not a cheap drunk so I rarely get drunk. I'll start to get buzzed around the 4 shot mark, and enter the semi-drunk state around 6, and drunk about 8 (but not throw up drunk) over the course of a few hours.

Not immediate, as in alcohol doesn't act instantaneously. If I downed a drink like Colt45 said, it'd hit me pretty quickly, though.

Edit for level-setting: I am a cheap drunk. Three beers is a heavy drinking night for me.
