Do you get all happy when you meet someone from your home state?

I never thought It'd happen to me. But when I find out someone is, I get all happy and excited.

What is wrong with me. The other person is never quite as excited.

No states over here, but it's certainly interesting to meet someone from my home city. I imagine it would be quite a thrill to meet another Kiwi while overseas.

are you from WV??

...or PA??

ok, ok...yeah, it's happened to me, even here in canada. actually, i think it helped me get my previous job!

the manager i interviewed with was born and raised in Port Hueneme and I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, so we were talking about CA the whole time - both of us ended up in Alberta, Canada for some twisted reason.

what state are you from? I've never met someone from Wyoming or the Dakotas. or idaho now that I think about it.

no, but when i lived in southern california it was always nice to run into somebody from northern california (Sacramento)

Returning from Belo Horizonte, Brazil this summer, I noticed a guy get on the jet with a Cruzeiro soccer jersey I only really took notice b/c its the rival team of fiance's favorite team.

So, we land in Miami and the same guy is waiting for the flight to Dallas.

So we land in Dallas and sure enough, the same guy is there waiting for the flight to Tulsa.

I had to say something to him after that. Kind of a crazy coincidence.

So, yes at times I get excited.

While I'm not a native of any of those, I've lived and worked in Wyoming and Idaho for many years. Wyoming is what we consider home even though we only lived there a couple of years...and have been gone more than 20 years.
(Home is where you hang your heart.) 😀

Every once in a while, when we're on vacation, we'll run into someone from norcal. I was sitting in a hot tub on Maui a few years ago drinking beer with another "old fart" and while we were talking, found out he was also from Modesto...small fucking world sometimes. We were in Pocatello, Idaho about 4 years ago and a vehicle with Kahleeforneeya plates pulled up at the pump next to us and asked where we were from. When I told him, he was amazed that here we were, about 1000 miles from home, and we were almost neighbors. He was from Ripon...about 10 miles from me.
He was headed to Minnesota, we were on our way back from Wisconsin...

I would rather find out they are from a different state, like, if they come from Wisconsin, I make fun of bubblers and talk about cheese and cherries. Ohh, and Brandy. I think those in Wisconsin like their Brandy even more than they like their PBR. (PBR has been on tap at like every bar in Wi since the 80s.)

When I was getting my emissions checked the three people waiting near me all realized they where from a town named Sydney, all in different states. Weird coincidence, 3 towns in 3 states with the same name all meet in the same place.

Same. Same home town too.

fulltilt39, how the heck did you end up in Alberta? I'm posting this from sunny 75 SB and I can see the Wilcox Property and Las Positas park out my door.
