Nope, I couldn't believe he could be so stupid and he let me down. He handed the Repubs tremendous ammunition. Such stupidity doesn't deserve a look in the rear view mirror.

I will forgive anyone for anything. But he never apologized for lying, so I will never respect him.

Clinton did not have sexual relations with that woman. Of course and he taught us that sexual relations actually means intercourse so we all know that now.

If you or I did that at work I seriously doubt your boss would keep you on the payroll, unless the person was your *cough* boss.

You are his boss, rep: your senator, and in my view your reps have failed you completely.

If you can't keep the President to the same level of conduct as your average citizen then how can you possibly tell citizens how to live their lives or set rules for how to operate a business in a country, which is what the government is doing.

let me answer that for you. You can't. Not unless you like the "hypocrite" label.

The core of the problem is that there is virtually zero accountability on many levels of government. Much like a business. Is it any wonder that business and government is so intertwined and any wonder why they operate in so similar ways?

Yes, actually he did formally apologize to the American people.

I never really thought he needed to apologize to America or me. "We" shouldn't have really been prying into the whole thing. His only apology really needs to go to his Wife, daughter and God.

I never cared about his sexual activity. I couldn't respect anyone who wouldn't stand up and be responsible for actions they had committed. He kept squirming right to the very end. What kind of backbone is that? It was the lying, not the sex that set him apart. The amazing part is that 62% of Americans loved him. Ivan The Terrible actually left Moscow, never to return. His people begged him to come back and torture them more. Funny how some people love really bad people. I never thought I would see Americans get that stupid.

So you have truly stood up and been responsible for EVERY action you've committed? Ever?

How 'bout if I give some team of Lawyers 40 million dollars, the right to break the law and then turn them loose on you. Would they find anything that you've not stood up and been responsible about?

I sure as hell hope it never happens to me. I'm generally a good and honest person but I don't believe my life could stand up to that sort of scrutiny.

In the grand scheme of things, lying about sex is hardly terrible or even really bad. He screwed up, made a mistake, and lied about it. Nobody is perfect, and he'd hardly be the first guy to ever lie about an affair so his wife wouldn't find out.

Personally I think the magnatude of the lie needs to be taken into consideration.

I never cared about Clinton's private life. Never wanted to hear about it.

I DO care however that that assfvck "independant asswipe" Ken Star should have been put in jail for wasting 40million of taxpayer's money to fund a politically motivated attack on the president of the united states based on his PRIVATE affair with a woman that had nothing to do with the nation he was serving.

I always liked Clinton, he had a great economic plan we all heard about before he was ever elected and a great plan for turning this country's huge mounting debt around in i think it was 5 years if I remember correctly.

He perjured himself, that I care about. Getting he@d I never did. Just shows he doesn?t have the pair when it comes to tough decisions. He lost some character I?d say.

I lost ALOT of respect for him when he lied about it. If he just would came clean then it would been no big deal.

He lied to his wife and family ... the people he should have cared about most in this world. A lie doesn't get bigger than that. All it proved is that Clinton would screw over anyone.

He is certainly not the first President to have an extramarital affair - and in fact Newt Gingrich was having an affair himself while leading the charge for Cinton's impeachment. I'd like to think our leaders are men of quality - and I also think Clinton was otherwise a pretty good President. But I sure as hell wouldn't treat my own family like that.

Having said that, I think the Lewinski affair and impeachment will ultimately be seen as one of the greatest overreactions in the history of politics - particularly since the Bush administration has made lying so routine even his opponents just sort of accept it.

I certainly wasn't a huge Clinton fan, but it had nothing to do with improper sexual relations. That was probably the biggest waste of media attention of the 90's.

Right. Wasn't any of my business in the first place. He was no genius, but he did a pretty good job as president. Hard to believe the current president has gotten away with so many distortions.

I would not say Lewinski was an overreaction, or that it will be recorded as such. I believe that it will be recorded as an example of the extremely bitter partisan politics of our time, where even the slightest indiscretion on one side was made into a full-blown scandal by the other side. Clinton getting some on the side I disliked (and thought it dishonorable of him), but I felt that issue was between him and his wife and not for the rest of us to judge. Republicans blowing it up into a full-blown scandal worthy of impeachment and the damaging of our political system simply for the sake of their partisanship... well, that I still do not forgive.

Clinton single-handedly gave both chambers of Congress back to the GOP, dismantled welfare, placed a Nixonian taint on the entire Democratic Party, and seriously crippled Gore's 2000 campaign (how was that race even close?!?!? Gore should've won in a landslide) - if any Republicans still can't forgive him, they need a serious lesson in gratitude.
