Do you focus on colors as you move throughout your day-to-dayness?

William B wrote about this in a non-creative writing response in a literary journal.

I've been able to use this method of focus for my own writing.

I've no picture of 'purple'.

Colors are very similar to music and the realtionship between the circle of 5ths.

I'll offer a quick hint.

As you walk, bike, drive, to work take time to notice a particular color. Pick a different color each day of the week.

I've found that it makes it easier to become interested in the world around you.

You should try being less of a zombie.

That has nothing to do with it. I notice many, many things around me on a daily basis, i don't need to pick a color to look for each day to notice the things around me.

Ahhh, a well thought out argument.

I replied to the question he asked in his thread title. He didn't ask for an explaination of why or why not. It was a simple question, so i gave a simple answer.

A simple answer is indicative of a simple mind. I don't expect more than two words when a lifer replies.

LOL...no, it's called not providing more than is asked. It's not a complex question. It was simple. Why would i provide a complex answer when it is not required? Common sense would tell me to answer a simple question with a simple answer. Now if you had asked "why" i would have replied with more...as i did in my second reply to the thread.

Anyway...i take notice of the things around me. Maybe others don't (i'm sure others don't) so they'll need to pick a certain color to focus on in order to notice the things around them. I was offering up my personal experience that i notice those things without picking a color before hand.

It's a fun little mental exersise. You may take notice of the things around you (that you haven't seen), but it's strange when you focus on one color-it makes you think more about the empirical world and it's solvency.

I notice more when I take my walk to the post office than my drive home.

Today I walked on Red.

perhaps. maybe i'll do that this week...just for sh*ts and giggles. Won't hurt. I take notice of the little details and things others don't...and i guess i take pride in that really. Maybe i don't notice as much as i could or should though...but i can say without second thought that it's a LOT more than most people in their daily lives.

It seems like you are an observer. I believe that observers are rare. You do probably notice more than most of the people in this country.

I'd say i am...but there is always more to notice. So we'll see.

Hopefully your thread makes others realize how much more there is out there to see. The little things. If you don't take the time to notice the little things how can you appreciate anything at all.

I focus on colors all the time. When I'm on shrooms.

Today was a blue day.

Two old new holland tractors and a sunset with cornflower backdrops.

It's a country road and even at 290mph I can focus on flowers and pavement.

Thanks for the concern.
