I would like to start flossing, but I think my teeth are too close together on the bottom middle. Feels weird to stick something in there. Is this normal?

Yep, at least once a day. Quick rinse with listerene, then a brushing usually twice a day.

Brushing and flossing go hand in hand. Mouthwash isn't enough. Flossing is a mechanical way to get in between your teeth where brushing can't reach.

What I tell my patients, if u floss and your mirror isn't messy from the plaque, you aren't doing a good enough job.

I floss, but not every day. A couple of times a week is enough for me.

I do have one particular gap on one side of my mouth that is prone to catching stringy foods and such. After such a meal, I *MUST* floss at least that gap to dislodge the food or else I will be very uncomfortable. Toothpicks are rarely enough to clear it all out, either.

Yes. I have a small gap in my back teeth on one side and it loves to catch food. If I skip flossing for even a day I will really regret it the next time I floss. :p
