Went to the dentist today and they told me i need to floss more. Just wondering how many people actually floss, i dont know anyone that does.

Neva!

My teeth ain't too bad. Considering I haven't had a good cleaning in a while. I do chew a lot of Trident gum though. 😉

I don't floss but I use an electric toothbrush and get along my gums while I'm brushing, keeps the dentist happy and I haven't had a cavity since I first bought an electric toothbrush (5 years or so now)

Uh.... lol...

Wow, just .. wow.

I never used to until last week when I went in for a root canal. Hey, no big deal, I had one a few years ago. The dentist jabs me with the needla a few times to numb the nerve and then starts grinding. The grinding wasn't so bad, but he was muttering and yelling out orders to his assistant.

He then tells me that the decay, which was all below the gumline and impossible to see even with xrays, went clear down and into the root of the tooth. He wouldn't be able to crown the tooth after the root canal because there wouldn't be enough tooth left.

The next ten minutes were very exciting! He jabbed me a few more times with the needle and then proceeded to insert several foreign objects between the gum and tooth.............all the way down to the root. He then applied a pair of pliars that the Marquis de Sade would have been proud of to my tooth. He pulled, pried, twisted and cussed. My head was jerking back and forth from the torque applied to my tooth. Just as I was about to blank out he stood back and proudly held up the biggest frickin tooth, with the longest roots, I have ever seen.

Yup, I floss twice a day now. 😀

I find that keeping floss in my car is a good thing to use when I'm stuck in traffic. For those who are not doing flossing, you need to start - if you want to keep your teeth.

I've never flossed. But I brush and use mouthwash (plus, I drink alcohol... a lot 😛)

23 years old and never had a cavity... haven't had any dental problems whatsoever, actually. had to get some baby teeth pulled, but that's the extent of it. I laugh at all my friends with wisdom tooth problems 🙂
