I used to floss maybe once a week or less. Now I floss once a night before bed
(those Reach flossers are great....got it free on ATHD), along with brushing w/ a sonicare toothbrush twice a day. Went in for a cleaning after not having been to the dentist for 5 years +, and there wasn't even anything for them to scrape off. I think the sonicare made a big difference in picking up the slack when I didn't floss.
