Do you find posting online helps you write better in school/work settings?

I was just posting to my blog and realized that writing is a lot easier for me now than it was when I was in high school. I post a lot on online forums, blogs, and my website, and I've found that I can not only type faster, but take my ideas and organize them in words much better. I get assignments in school and I can whip through them and answer questions fairly easily without a lot of the frustration I once had.

Do you think posting online has helped you, and if so, in what way?

Of course, practicing writing will make you a better writer, so long as you make a consientious effort to write properly and unerstandably. The problem is, many people have not used the internet as a medium to hone their skills, they simply throw their words across the ether, with no thoguht.

Anyone who seriously says "r u there??/?" will not see any benefit.

I notice I tend to write more phonetically when "chatting", so I make some really unusual typos or misuse words that I would not usually. However, when I am writing formal letters or handwriting this does not happen.

Posting online seems to help with my typing skills but not with my writing essays in school. Posting usually doesn't require a certain form like essays do. Therefore, my answer to your question is no.

well, there's definately a difference between neffing and posting a thoughtful response 🙂
