No. I eat fiber, so I stay fuller longer. People should try it. 50 grams a day (even though nutrition guidelines say 25 g).
[*]I sometimes get a little hungry around 9:30-10 am. But a simple little snack (Fiber One chewy bar, usually the Peanut Butter flavor) will fill me up for hours. Often though, I don't get hungry this early since I am starting to digest my midnight meal the night before.
[*]I eat a large but usually healthy meal around noon-12:30 pm. Cracklin Oat bran is a common lunch item for me. I think I have 3-5 servings of it, but I haven't measured it out. I eat until I can't eat another bite. It is either that or something high in protein.
[*]I get hungry again around 6 pm-7 pm, although I try to eat dinner before I get hungry. Lots of vegetables for dinner will keep me full until midnight.
[*]At midnight, I eat whatever I want. I always have a protein shake mixed with Benefiber and then I have a yogurt for good digestion (I have an irritable bowl and daily yogurt and high fiber have reduced problems by about 70%). Typically I'll have a frozen burrito, mac and cheese, ham steak, corn chips with salsa and cream cheese, or a bagel with cream cheese.
Not much food there, but the fiber keeps me rarely hungry. Any time a diet study includes fiber, the fiber diet wins hands down for keeping the weight off. It does that by (1) keeping you full by allowing you to eat as much as you want then (2) the fiber comes out without going to your stomach or thighs. Heck, the fiber takes much of the fat and sugar with it before they have a chance to digest.
