Do you feed your dog once or twice a day?

tastless kibble lies out all day. always filled when empty. rarely have to fill, dog only eats when hungry. luck of the draw i guess. boring food + never failing abundance + dog personality i guess.
 
When I had my Rottweiler i fed her two cups twice a day. Then, every other month I would fast her for 24 hours.

Neutro (when retired from schultzhund training)
 
I dont.
She lives off all the neighbors trash.
And they think its the cats😛
So she eats on Tues and Friday, trash pickup days.
By Tuesday she always kind of pissed and I dont know why.....
 
Once when I wake up, Once when I get hoem from work (same with our cats). People eat multiple times per day, I don't know why peopel think dogs only need to eat once.

If you do feed once a day, just divide it in half and feed twice. Let's them eat a bit, digest it and do stuff then eat some more later...
 
We do the same thing with my dog... and she is as fit as can be.

once, he's smart enough to only eat part of his food then he finishes the rest around 6 or 7 in the eve.
 
We just fill his bowl and he eats when he feels like it. Normally takes him 2-3 days to finish it. A bowl is prolly 2 cups of food or so. He's a westie btw.
 
twice for the puppy (shetland sheepdog)
once for the large dog (golden retriever/chow mix)

we fed the large one twice a day, but he used to wander around and get extra from the neighbors, weighed about 115lbs....down to 90 now, prolly will keep feeding him once a day and keep him home more
 
My dog eats only when she is hungry, so we leave it with food and she goes at her will. She typically eats at night after we have dinner and she realizes she isn't getting people food.
