I just sent a document to the printer, and across the other side of the room my inexpensive laser printer whirred into action, spitting out crisp 600 dpi text. I remember when laser printers cost thousands of bucks. what's more, there are no wires connecting my print server with my workstation. it's all wireless. isn't that AMAZING? 10 years ago I wouldn't have thought it possible. I wonder what exciting developments we will see in the coming decade..?

I'm an engineer in a team that designs processors and I marvel at the fact that regardless of all the crap that makes it into the final design, the thing boots.

I just recently watched Pirates of Silicon Valley (a docu-drama about the early days of the PC industry) and Triumph of the Nerds (a PBS documentary about the same), and yes it's amazing how far we've come.

I saw the former a few weeks ago... and I have to wonder, was Jobs really that batshit crazy?

Sorry to derail, OP.

No, too busy trying to find free porn.

Ah yes, the motivator of modern computer technology.

Just wait until Intel comes out with their new PR0N instruction set, for faster rendering of downloaded porn.
